Quiet Moments Of Tearful Nostalgia

I’m very well aware that it is important not to dwell in the past too much, because it comes at the expense of the present. Sometimes though, when I feel it is safe to do, so I take a moment to hold in my minds eye a moment or a part of the past, and quietly shed my tears for those never-to-return times. I recover very quickly, and move on with the rest of my day, however it is an important emotional release for me. It helps me reconnect with the present to be able to give small moments of attention to these moments of the past as and when they bubble up.
